David Byron = Underrated God

I chose to post this rarity from ROUGH DIAMOND fronted by ex-Uriah Heep singer David Byron from 1977. This live version is far better than the album cut! This live performance goes to show how underrated and special David Byron was. Uriah Heep "would not" have gone anywhere without their flashy showman from Essex. He had his very own unique feel for singing as well as performance. He just skates along the surface of the music with class. what a loss and what a legend! Sadly David Byron stopped creating music in 1985, like his contemporary Phil Lynott, who tragically passed the same year due to the excesses of fame and fortune and the addictions that often possess those that reach such dizzying heights.

here is the picture I would have liked to have posted of David to accompany this little story.

and if you love David here is his early work from SPICE pre heap. 1966-1969. Of course this song is much better than the Rough Diamond cut.
